Samantha Sly: After working as Office Manager for close to 5 Years, Samantha Sly purchased Travel Avenue in November of 2000. Samantha has over 15 years industry experience, she has travelled extensively and continues to do so whenever possible. She has a strong client following due to her enthusiasm and ability and is well equipped to lead Travel Avenue further into the future. This year it is planned to further upgrade technology, to ensure staff are up to date not only with technology but with industry changes. Samantha is also seeking to expand Travel Avenue & Italia Mia Websites and the Corporate base with both areas showing steady growth. The style of business will never change as it is based on customer service, but keeping up to date is essential. Bev Davey: Bev Davey joined the company in December 2000 to take up the running of Italia Mia, Bev has had many years experience in retail travel as an Office Manager for Qantas. It is Bevs great love of Italy & France and due to her personal and job related travel that she can help put together wonderful itineraries for both individual travellers and small groups. Julie Corrigan: Julie has been with the company for 11 years. Julie looks after the accounting and administration side of the business. In 2002 her role changed to also include working along side Bev Davey to assist in the Italia Mia division. Kirsten Stephens: Kirsten has worked in the Travel Industry previously with Samantha and now re-joins to work as Samanthas PA. Her ability to organise and co ordinate all areas of travel have made her a huge asset to the workings of Travel Avenue. Linda Di Petta: Linda works with Travel Avenue and Italia Mia on a temporary basis but her dedication to her work and her enthusiasm to the job is what you will remember of her every time.

Travel Avenue was established in 1988 as a service based agency and opened its doors to the public in early 1989. The office was then a single shop front at the corner of Madden and Bridport Streets in beautiful Albert Park. Number 101 Bridport. Five years later when the shop next door became available, Travel Avenue expanded as business growth required more space. Since opening travel the agency, the company has grown from a two-person office to a team of 6 staff. After 6 years in the business of International and Domestic Retail Travel and with a particular love of Italy, the staff decided to launch Italia Mia (My Italy). In 1995 Italia Mia first advertised and set up offices in the upstairs area of the travel agency. The idea of specialising proved successful, and has now grown to incorporate France due to growth of interest in both areas for the Australian Traveller. We are constantly looking for new and exciting destinations for our customers to enjoy. At the end of 1998 and after many discussions, Travel Avenue became an American Express Representative Office. The staff agreed that the American Express network would be an asset due to the number of cardholders in the area along with the added support of a worldwide network. In 2003 American Express merged with Travelscene to form Travelscene American Express. Travel Avenue is a totally independent travel agency and has access to all of the Travelscene American Express’ network of services.
